The Design Process
SHARE IDEAS We will have an open discussion about your vision and how I can make it come to life! Inspiration will come from your colors, venue and other small details that you share about your wedding day. I will design 3-5 rough concepts usually within 10-14 days.
CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITES After narrowing down the concepts to 1 to 3 designs that you'd like to physically see, I will provide handmade samples. I will also have additional papers, color options and embellishments to mix and match, because I love options!
PRICING ESTIMATE I will give you an estimated quote after you choose the pieces to your set. A 50% deposit (less a $50 non-refundable design fee) and signed contract will be required at this point.
PROOF We will work together to get the design details and information just right. I will provide you with your final set to review and approve. (Although I am sure you will love it, you are entitled to five revisions.)
PRODUCTION After you approve your set for final printing, your vision will become a reality! (I will provide you with an estimated date of completion, although sometimes I finish them sooner!)
DELIVERY Your invitations will be carefully packaged and hand-delivered by me or mailed to you. You will then be responsible for applying postage, stacking the cards,
and addressing and stuffing the envelopes. (I can do this for you, although an assembly fee will be charged.)
FOLLOW UP It is very rewarding to see my designs in action on the big day. Feel free to share photos with me and I will credit your photographer if I use them on my website. Reviews on my wedding wire page are always appreciated!
Q & A
How much does it cost?
Your price will be calculated based on the design, quantity, and materials. I will provide a full quote up front so that there are no surprises. Note: Sets typically range from $4 - $10
How far in advance do I need to order?
I ask that you schedule a free consultation 4-6 months in advance. Note: It’s NEVER too early to discuss your invitations.
Can you match a color?
Not a problem! Just give me a swatch of what it is you are trying to match (i.e. bridesmaids’s dresses, flowers) and I will do my best. Note: Colors on screen are different than printing, this is why you will receive a final proof of your design to approve.
Will you help me with wording?
Of course AND much more. I am very knowledgeable in invitation etiquette
along with many other small details about displaying escort cards, table
numbers, programs, etc.
How much is postage for a custom invitation?
Generally the sets I design are an additional $0.20 - $0.40 in postage, due to the weight of thicker papers and embellishments. Note: I will provide an estimated amount of postage, but strongly suggest taking a complete set to the post office before mailing.
What types of payment do you accept?
I currently accept cash, check or paypal. All quotes and initial consultations are non-obligatory and free of charge.
Can you design other printed materials?
Yes! Save-the-Dates, Programs, Favor Labels/Tags, Menus, Escort Cards, Thank Yous, Seating Charts, you name it…I can probably design and make it for you.
You must have said yes!
Now you're probably wondering, where to start!?
Before I begin any design work I ask for a $50 deposit which will go towards your final order if you choose to move forward with designs. I ask for this deposit because it takes at least 4 hours to create your original concepts and unfortunately I've had people in the past that never got back to me after I spent that time designing for them. I will always have the guarantee that your invitations will look just the way you want,
no matter how long it takes.
